Exercise # 1 - Building Up Your Partner With Words
Now let me warn you that if you're not used to doing this it will take some practice.
I want you to find someone to practice this with. If you don't have anyone then for the first time look in the mirror and use yourself as a partner. However, next time use a real person.
What to do?
I want you to look your partner in the eye ( or your friend in this situation ) and tell them something that you appreciate about them. It does not have to be something big. Simply tell them I like the shirt you are wearing or I like the way that you have done your hair. Later on I want you to concentrate on inner qualities that that person possesses and tell them what qualities you appreciate about them. For example, George, I like that fact that you are a very patient man or Betty, I appreciate your kindness, you always have something nice to say.

Exercise # 2 - Looking in the mirror and telling yourself what you like about yourself
Yes I stole this from exercise # 1. What I want you to do is to look into the mirror and to simply finish this sentence " What I like about you is ..." Now do this a half a dozen times. If you can't find anything that you like about yourself then you have a problem. You're suffering from low self-esteem and nobody can have a successful relationship when they are suffering from a low self-esteem. in this case you are going to have to do some work on yourself. On the other hand if you are able to say nice things about yourself this is an indicator that you have healthy self-image. This is good. Keep it up. Some of you may think that this is a silly exercise, but it is not. Our words are powerful and they have an effect on our relationships. Try it out. Let me know how it goes by going to the blog page and leaving your comments there. I would love to hear from you.
Exercise # 3 - Touching
While you are in conversation with someone I want you to simply to touch their hand, knee or shoulder while you are talking to them. It's important to feel comfortable with touching. We all be loved as well as to love. Now I am talking about a gentle touch. The purpose of the touch is to communicate with the one whom you are speaking with. Let them know that I'm listening to you. I enjoy your company etc.
Exercise # 4 - Get Someone Else to Interrupt you and to Speak While You Are Speaking
What is the significance of this exercise? It is simple. It is to show you the value of listening. When we don't listen to people we send them the message that they are not important and that we don't care about what they are saying. And the opposite is true also. When we listen to people we send them the message that they are important and that we care about what they have to say. Do this exercise for one to two minutes. I guarantee that you'll fell bad at the end of this exercise. But it will show you the importance of listening to others.
Exercise # 5 - Give someone a gift !
Do this a least once per week. Now it does not have to be a gift that you buy. It certainly can be. It can be a gift from the heart. And think about the people around you. Think about what they need. You can be a blessing to someone. Remember to use your talents whatever they may be. Be creative.
